Villa interior design in India, created for one client only

Ultra-luxury modern villa exterior with travertine facade, glass entrance and private driveway — villa interior design by Blaine Robert Design, India

A great villa is not decorated — it is composed. Light, proportion, stone, timber, silence and spectacle, arranged around one family’s way of living. That composition is what we do.

Villa design in India spans a wide range — from contemporary, pared-back modern villa design to classical grandeur suited to a formal reception hall. Whatever the house design language you are drawn to, the discipline underneath it is the same: proportion, materiality and restraint, held consistently from the front door to the last guest suite.

We design for villa and penthouse owners across India’s leading residential markets — Gurugram, Mumbai, Delhi NCR and beyond — and for private residences internationally, with commissions to date in Dubai, Doha and Saudi Arabia.

Designing an apartment or branded residence rather than a villa? See residential interior design in India for the wider picture.

Clients come to us at three moments: a shell-and-core handover that deserves better than a fit-out catalogue; a complete reinvention of a home that no longer matches the life inside it; or a new acquisition they want finished to a standard worthy of the address.

What “bespoke” means here

Not a keyword — a discipline. Every element of your home is drawn from a blank page: the geometry of the staircase balustrade, the veining sequence of the stone, the profile of a single door handle.

Nothing arrives from a showroom floor unless you chose it. Nothing designed for you will ever be built for anyone else. This is slow, deliberate, personally directed work — and it is the only kind we accept.

Every great villa starts with a private consultation.

The journey

Vision. Design. Realisation.

01

Vision

A private consultation — at the property, in the studio, or wherever in the world you are. We listen for how you live: entertaining, family, privacy, collections, ritual. The creative direction is agreed before a single line is drawn.

02

Design

Interior architecture and full-height detail: ceilings, stone, joinery, lighting scenes, bespoke furniture, fabrics and art direction. Presented room by room, refined with you, and documented to the precision master craftsmen expect.

03

Realisation

The studio directs ateliers, workshops and delivery teams through installation, styling and reveal — until the finished home matches the drawings, and the drawings match the vision.

The elements of a Blaine Robert home

  • Interior architecture Proportion, circulation, ceilings, staircases — the permanent beauty beneath the furnishing.
  • Bespoke joinery & stone Libraries, dressing rooms, majlis walls, book-matched marble — drawn once, made once.
  • Lighting design Scenes for morning, dinner, celebration and solitude — the quietest luxury of all.
  • Furniture, fabrics & FF&E Commissioned pieces and the world’s finest houses, specified to the last thread.
  • Art direction & styling The final ten percent that makes a house photograph like a home and feel like a signature.

Investment

Fees are agreed clearly, in writing, before we begin, and follow the ambition of the commission — the size of the home, the proportion of bespoke work, the provenance of materials.

We accept a limited number of villa commissions at a time. That is not scarcity theatre; it is how personally directed design survives contact with reality.

Villa FAQ

Asked by owners, answered plainly

What does a full villa commission include?

Everything the finished home requires: spatial planning, interior architecture, bespoke joinery and stone, lighting design, furniture, fabrics, art direction and final styling — one continuous creative vision, documented completely and carried through to the day you move in.

Do you design palaces and royal residences?

Yes. Formal majlis and reception wings, private quarters, dining for state occasions — at palace scale, coherence and discretion matter as much as splendour. References are shared privately.

How long does a villa project take?

Design for a full villa typically takes three to five months; realisation runs from six to twelve depending on scope and the level of bespoke work. You receive a stage-by-stage programme at proposal.

Can you work with our architect or contractor?

Yes — we collaborate readily. The interior vision is drawn to coordinate precisely with your architect’s shell, and we direct the craft with whichever delivery team suits the commission.

We live abroad. Can you run the project without us in India?

Most of our clients are international. Presentations happen wherever you are; approvals move digitally; the studio manages everything on the ground and reports as often as you wish.

What does villa interior design cost in India?

Bespoke work follows scope: size, the proportion of custom joinery, the grade and provenance of materials. We agree fees clearly before we begin — and we’d rather build one extraordinary room than many ordinary ones.

Will our home be photographed or published?

Only with your consent. Discretion is the default; many of our finest projects will never appear in the portfolio, and our clients prefer it that way.

Do you only design modern villas, or classical houses too?

Both. Modern villa design and more classical house design are simply different vocabularies — the same standard of proportion, material honesty and coherence applies whichever language your home speaks. We agree the direction with you at the first consultation, not before.
