The Camellias

A high-rise residence built on colour and contrast

Where The Camellias works in restraint, this Worli high-rise was designed to be worn like jewellery — deep emerald onyx lit from within, black marble veined in white, and brass fittings finished to a warm, almost molten glow. The name came from the studio’s own site notes before the client ever saw a rendering: every room reads as a small, self-contained jewel box, each with its own material story, connected by a single confident hand.

The plan was built around entertaining at scale without sacrificing intimacy — a cocktail and listening salon that opens fully into the dining room for large gatherings, and a private cinema and night terrace for evenings that call for the opposite. Bathrooms throughout were treated as feature rooms in their own right rather than afterthoughts, culminating in a spa bathroom finished entirely in book-matched green onyx.
