A double-height villa on Half Moon Bay, planned for formal reception at one end and family life at the other. The living hall rises under a domed, gold-detailed ceiling and a wraparound gallery; book-matched marble carries through the foyer, dining room and kitchen, while a private cigar lounge and mini-library give the family its own quieter rooms.

The scale of the shell demanded restraint rather than more decoration — proportion, symmetry and a consistent material story hold the house together. Furniture, lighting and stone were specified as one package so the finished rooms would match the drawings exactly.
