Blaine Robert Design is driven by a team of seasoned professionals with deep expertise across multiple disciplines of interior design and build.
Blaine, originally from Canada, embarked on a journey of exploration throughout various parts of Asia before settling in Malaysia in 2005. Recognizing the demand for his signature adventurous and unconventional designs, he established his base in Kuala Lumpur. During his travels across the Asia-Pacific region, Blaine was able to gather eclectic design elements and inspiration from the diverse cultures in which he worked as a designer.
After obtaining his degree from the University of Calgary in 1986, Blaine honed his skills through two years of work experience in Canada. In 1988, driven by his passion for Japanese architecture and minimalist design, he made the decision to relocate to Tokyo, where he worked as a freelance designer for the next 12 years.
Blaine’s contributions to the interior décor industry in Malaysia, Dubai and India have earned him a prominent reputation and recognition. He is often invited to serve as a judge at prominent interior design competitions and property award events in the country.
Murtuza Burmavalwala is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with over a decade of experience in the design-build industry, bringing together global exposure, strong technical grounding, and an instinct for refined execution. With a Master’s degree in Construction Management from Michigan State University and past experience as a Project Coordinator with Rohit Group in Edmonton, Canada, he offers a globally informed approach to managing complex, high-end interior and construction projects.
As Managing Director of Blaine Robert Design India, Murtuza leads the firm’s expansion into one of the world’s most dynamic markets blending the brand’s legacy of luxury interiors with India’s rich heritage and evolving modern lifestyle.
